The Proposal
Cumnor Solar Farm will comprise of solar panels mounted, in rows, on a Single Axis Tracker frame orientated North to South. The top of the panels would be approximately 3.2m off the ground and would move from East to West.
- Supply power directly into the grid, with an export capacity of up to 13MW (megawatts). A 3 MW battery is also proposed.
- Potential to generate enough electricity (19.5GWh) to meet the needs of approximately 5000* homes.
- Offer a community benefit package that will be shaped by local people.
- Offset approximately 8,000** tonnes of CO2 per year.
- Contribute to meeting the UK Government’s ‘net zero by 2050’ targets.
